The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in a Robbery investigation.
On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at approximately 10:50 a.m., police responded to the Scotiabank, 649 Danforth Avenue, for a bank robbery call.
It is alleged that:
- a masked man entered the bank
- he approached a teller and produced a hold-up note demanding money
- the teller did not comply with the demand, and the masked man fled the bank empty-handed
On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at approximately 11:04 a.m., police responded to the Bank of Montreal, 518 Danforth Avenue, for a bank robbery call by the same masked man.
It is further alleged that:
- a masked man entered the bank
- he approached a teller and produced a hold-up note demanding money
- the teller feared for her safety and handed the masked man an amount of cash
Hold Up investigators took over the investigations.
On Thursday, January 26, 2017, 55 Division officers arrested a man for an unrelated matter. He was later identified to be wanted for these robberies. Jesse Pelletier, 33, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) two counts of Robbery
2) two counts of Disguise with Intent
3) two counts of Fail to Comply Probation
4) Fail to Comply Recognizance
5) Theft Under $5000
6) Assault to Resist Arrest
He appeared in court at College Park on Friday, January 27, 2017, 10 a.m.
