Public advisory, North York Winter Maintenance By-law

The North York Winter Maintenance By-law prohibits parking on streets in the former City of North York between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., from December 1, up to and including March 31 of the following year. This bylaw ensures the city can completely clear streets of snow, and that large emergency vehicles can have free vehicular flow.

The Parking Enforcement Unit will begin enforcement of this bylaw on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 2 a.m., providing the public with a two-day grace period. In the event that it snows prior to Saturday, December 3, 2016, enforcement may start earlier.

The following streets/locations are exempt from the North York Winter Maintenance Bylaw:

31 Division:
- Maple Bush Avenue
- Purchase Place
- Seeley Drive
- Four Winds Drive - Indented meter parking sections only. These meters are also under consideration until further notice.
- Village at York - Subdivision directly south of York University - all side streets are posted with 12-hour parking allowed from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and is exempt.
- NOTE: Jack Wiggins Lane is not exempt

32 Division:
- Woburn Avenue - First block west of Avenue Road (#431 - #488)
- Oakburn Place
- Oaburn Crescent
- Brookdale Avenue - North side from Avenue Road. going east to the North York municipal boundary (#368-#390 approximately)
- Cactus Avenue - metered boulevard section south of Steeles Avenue West
