On Monday, November 28, 2016, at 9:53 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Bloor Street East at Parliament Street.
It is alleged that:
- a 23-year-old man was driving a 2000 Honda Civic, eastbound on Bloor Street, approaching Parliament Street
- for reasons not yet determined, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole on the southeast side of the intersection
Three of the four occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital. A 25-year-old man was pronounced at hospital, a 20-year-old woman received life-threatening injuries and a 20-year-old woman received non-life-threatening injuries.
It is further alleged that:
- the driver has been identified as Galeeb Abau-Jabeen, 23, of Toronto
He has been charged with:
1) Impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
2) Impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death
3) Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
4) Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death
5) Criminal negligence causing bodily harm
6) Criminal negligence causing death
He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, 10 a.m.
