On Friday, November 18, 2016, at 6:09 p.m., officers responded to a call for the sound of gunshots in the Eglinton Avenue East and Sloane Avenue area.

The victim has been identified as Adrian Thomas, 25, of Toronto.
A post-mortem examination has determined the cause of death as gunshot wounds to the neck and torso.
A number of cartridge casings were recovered from the crime scene. Investigators believe a number of cartridge casings may have been driven over by vehicles in the area and may have been caught up in the tire treads.
Investigators request anyone who was driving in the area on Friday, November 18, 2016, after 6 p.m., to check the treads of their vehicle tires for any cartridge casings.
Homicide investigators believe some of the fired projectiles may have continued past the targeted vehicle and there may have been more than one gun used. Homicide investigators are asking local residents and businesses to check their properties, vehicles and structures for any fresh damage that may have been the result of gunfire.
