The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to an arrest in a historical Sexual Assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
- in 1970, a man sexually assaulted a boy
- the man was the boy's elementary school teacher

James David Hicks was employed as a teacher in Toronto at Chester Public School from 1966 until 1969 and at George Webster Elementary School from 1969 onward into the 1970s. He continued to teach in Toronto until the 1990s and was also a sports coach including hockey, soccer and baseball.
A photograph from 1968 is now available.
