On Wednesday, July 10, 2013, 11 a.m., at 14 Division, 350 Dovercourt Road, the 2013 Sirens for Life Campaign kick-off will take place.
Acting Deputy Chief Frank Bergen, Director of Donor and Clinic Services, Charmaine Lodge and Canadian Blood Services recipient Deborah Hunte, along with members of St. John's Ambulance, will participate in this year's "What's Type" event.
The Sirens For Life campaign is a friendly competition between the Toronto Police Service, Toronto Emergency Medical Services, Toronto Fire Services, and other emergency services to donate the most units of blood over the course of the summer. Canadian Blood Services Sirens For Life campaigns are underway across the country to ensure the blood supply remains high during the summer months when supplies are generally lower than the rest of the year.
