The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
- a 36-year-old woman was employed as a cleaner with a cleaning company that was contracted to service a fitness centre in the Front Street West and University Avenue area,
- between the months of March and July, 2016, while working the night shift at the fitness centre, the woman was assaulted and sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by the owner of the cleaning company
On Thursday, October 6, 2016, Manuel Gomes Franco, 66, of Toronto, was arrested. He was charged with:
1. six counts of sexual assault
2. two counts of assault
He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall courts on Friday, October 7, 2016, at 10 a.m., room 101.
Police are concerned there may be other victims.
