On Thursday, June 6, 2013, police arrested two men in connection with a 2009 "cold case" robbery and shooting investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on February 25, 2009, two masked men entered the Swap Shop at 1448 Lawrence Avenue East
- the accused were armed with a handgun and a baseball bat
- during the robbery, a struggle ensued and one of the employees was shot by the accused, causing severe internal injuries

Bevon Marshall, 22, and a 21-year-old man, both of Toronto, have each been charged with:
1) Attempt Murder
2) Robbery while armed with firearm
3) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
4) Disguise with intent
5) Discharge firearm endanger life
6) Point Firearm
7) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
8) Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
9) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
10) Firearm careless storage
11) Fail to Comply with Probation
Bevon Marshall has also been charged with:
1) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
Police are not releasing the name of the 21-year-old man because he was a Young Person at the time of the offence.
