The Toronto Police Service will be celebrating International Womens Day on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 11 a.m., in the lobby of police headquarters, 40 College Street.
International Womens Day has become a global day of recognition to celebrate the collective power of women past, present and future. It is celebrated annually across the world on March 8, and has become an important opportunity to address the social, economic and political barriers women still face today. It has also become an event which inspires women to celebrate their achievements.
This years theme is The Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum. The event will feature keynote addresses from community leaders and will recognize women whose leadership and contribution to the community have helped improve the lives of others.
Light refreshments will be served in the Grenville Lobby immediately following the ceremony.
