On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 5:24 p.m., police responded to an unknown trouble call at Cruickshank Park, at 2170 Lawrence Avenue West, on the east side of the Humber River, for a man who reportedly went into the river after his dog.
Emergency services responded to the area and conducted an immediate search for the man. The Marine Unit searched the river for several days.
On Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 2 p.m., the Marine Unit recovered a body from the Humber River and a post-mortem examination was scheduled.
On Tuesday, June 4, 2013, the body recovered from the Humber River was identified as that of the 33-year-old Toronto man, who went missing in the Humber River on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
The name of the man will not be released.
