On Thursday, May 29, 2013, just before 3 p.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call for a shooting on Mantis Road.
Officers located a man inside a home suffering from an obvious gun shot wound.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been identified as Surendra Vaithilingam, 38, of Toronto.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2013, at 9:30 a.m.
Two security camera videos video #1 and video #2 from the area have been seized.
Three males are seen walking, south on Mantis Road on the east side. They walk between two houses and then are seen running from between the houses and north on Mantis Road, crossing over to the west side of the street.
A four-door North American sedan, with faded medium-blue paint, that was parked on Bobolink Avenue was seen fleeing the area.
Police are appealing for local residential video in and around the area that maybe have captured this car's entry and escape from the area.
