The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance locating persons involved in an Armed Robbery and Attempted Abduction investigation involving a firearm.
It is reported that:
- on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 12:24 p.m., a man was walking to his car in the underground parking lot of his condominium building in the Windermere Avenue and The Queensway area
- as he approached his car, he was attacked by at least two men, one of whom was pointing a handgun at him
- the men removed the man's jacket, which contained his iPhone 6 cell phone, and made a demand for his keys
- they then tried to force him into their vehicle
- at this point, the man hit the panic button on his key chain and began to yell for help
- by doing this, he was able to get the attention of another resident of the building, who started to yell at the attackers
- as a result, the men ran to their vehicle and fled the underground
The man called police. Officers attended a short while later. The man suffered abrasions to his neck as a result of the attack.
The vehicle is described as a dark-grey Toyota Sienna van, with Michigan licence plates.
Security camera images of the van have been released.
