On Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 11:45 p.m., police saw a vehicle on the northbound Don Valley Parkway, at Lawrence Avenue East.
It is alleged that:
- the officer saw a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta driving at a high rate of speed
- a speed-measuring device, used by the officer, registered a speed of 143 km/h in a 90 km/h zone
A 44-year-old man, of Pickering, has been charged with:
1) Stunt Driving- Drive at rate of speed- 50 km/h or more over speed limit.
His licence has been suspended for seven days for stunt driving. The vehicle he was driving has been impounded for seven days.
