On Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 3:47 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Avenue Road at Woburn Avenue.
− a 58-year-old man was driving a 2004 Toyota Rav 4, northbound on Avenue Road, attempting to make a left turn to westbound Woburn Avenue
− a 59-year-old man was driving a 2014 Acura RDX, southbound on Avenue Road, attempting to make a left turn to eastbound Woburn Avenue
− for reasons not yet determined, the Toyota accelerated and collided with the Acura
The 58-year-old man, the driver of the Toyota, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
