On Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at 11:32 p.m., police received a call for a shooting in the Morecambe Gate and Chester Le Boulevard area.
It is reported that:
- two men were sitting in a parked van
- two male suspects approached the driver's side of the van
- a male suspect shot both the driver and front-seat passenger
- one man was pronounced at the scene and one man suffered non-life-threatening injuries
The deceased has been identified as Alva Dixon, 70, of Scarborough.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Thursday, January 21, 2016.
