Media Advisory, 2016 Public Heroes Awards GTA Kick-Off, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., Peel Arts Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA), at 9 Wellington Street, Brampton

Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) GTA in partnership with Peel Regional Police, Peel Regional Paramedic Services and Brampton Fire and Emergency Services and with support from Toronto Police Service’s Divisional Policing Support Unit will be holding a Kick-off to announce the nomination process for the 2016 Public Heroes Awards GTA.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., at Peel Arts Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA).

The Public Heroes Awards GTA recognize outstanding delivery of services and are selected based on the following three criteria: altruism, dedication and community involvement. Nominations are open to all members of emergency services, including police officers, firefighters and paramedics as well as civilian staff.

Emergency service representatives from across the GTA will be at the Kick-off to announce the search for nominations. Awards will be presented to outstanding students and young people who have been involved in community activities and demonstrated the qualities of becoming a Public Hero.

The winners of the Public Heroes Awards GTA will be announced on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Mississauga Convention Centre.
