On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, police responded to a sounds of gunshot call in the Windermere Avenue and Dundas Street West area.
It is alleged that:
- a masked man fired a shot into a home, using a .22 calibre handgun
- there were five people in the home at the time
On Wednesday, October 28, 2015, the man was arrested.
It is alleged that:
- he was in still in possession of the mask and the handgun
- a search warrant was subsequently executed
- three additional firearms were seized, along with a quantity of ammunition
- a quantity of illegal drugs was also seized
Kwasi Kobia, 18 of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) five counts of Uttering Threats
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Attempt Murder
4) Use Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
5) Pointing a Firearm
6) Careless Use of a Firearm
7) four counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
8) Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
9) Carry Concealed Weapon
10) two counts of Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
11) Possession of a Weapon
12) four counts of Careless Storage of Firearm
13) three counts of Possession Schedule I Substance CDSA
14) two counts of Possession Schedule IV Substance CDSA
15) two counts of Possession Schedule I Substance FTP Trafficking CDSA
16) four counts of Possession of Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
17) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered
