Traffic fatality #14/2013 Queen Street East/Eastern Avenue

On Sunday, May 12, 2013, at 1:39 a.m., police responded to a call for a pedestrian-struck collision, on Queen Street East at Eastern Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 60-year-old man was a passenger on an eastbound TTC streetcar, at the intersection of Queen Street East and Kingston Road

- the man exited the streetcar, stepped on to the streetcar island and began walking westbound

- as the man was walking on the south side of the streetcar island, he stumbled and fell into the roadway and into a different eastbound TTC streetcar moving east on Queen Street East

- the man was struck by the rear wheels of the streetcar

- as a result of the impact, the man suffered major trauma

The 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
