On Saturday, May 11, 2013, the 12th annual Meagans Walk charity event will take place.
Approximately 4,000 participants will start the 5-km walk at 10 a.m., from the Fort York National Historic Site to the Hospital for Sick Children via sidewalks only.
Closing ceremonies will take place within the road closure area on Elizabeth Street, between Gerrard Street and Elm Street. Elizabeth Street will be closed, from Gerrard Street West to Elm Street, from 5 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m.
Walkathon route: (starts at 10 a.m.)
- Formation Area: Fort York Parking Lot starting at 8:30 a.m.
- South/East Garrison Road
- Eastbound on Fort York Boulevard north sidewalk ONLY
- Northbound on Bathurst Streetwest sidewalk ONLY: Exception: S/B curb lane at the railway bridge between Fort York Boulevard and Front Street
- Eastbound on King Streetnorth sidewalk ONLY
- Northbound on University Avenueeast sidewalk ONLY
- Eastbound on Elm Streetsouth sidewalk ONLY
Arrive: Road closure area south side of the Hospital for Sick Children
TTC vehicles will be permitted through gaps in the event, when safe to do so.
This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
