The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a potential sex offender.
On Monday, March 4, 2013, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police responded to a call for a suspicious incident in the Finch Avenue West/Islington Avenue area.
It is reported that:
- on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 8:35 a.m., an 11-year-old girl was walking along Duncanwoods Drive when a man driving a van approached her
- the man directed the girl to come towards the van
- the girl refused and ran towards a group of people
The man is described as having a pale white complexion, in his 40s, medium build, with short, straight, grey hair and goatee. He is believed to have hairy hands, thin lips, a long nose and wrinkly forehead. He was wearing a dark-colored sweater with roll-up sleeves.
The van is described as dark-green or black mini-van with clear driver-side window. Rust was seen along the bottom panel of driver's-side door.
