On Monday, July 20, 2015, at 10:15 a.m., police responded to a call for a pedestrian-struck personal injury collision at The Queensway, east of South Kingsway.
It is reported that:
− a 38-year-old man was driving a 2005 Freightliner truck, and was reversing the truck westbound in the eastbound lanes of The Queensway
− a 58-year-old man was standing on the south boulevard of The Queensway, attempting to assist the driver as he was reversing the vehicle
− for reasons not yet determined, the man stepped off of the curb and on to the roadway where he was struck by the truck
The 58-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
