Public assistance sought identifying suspect wanted for robbery with a firearm

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a suspect wanted for a robbery with a firearm.

It is reported that:

- on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a 17 year-old boy was walking along the hydro field pathway, between Fountainhead Road and Murray Ross Parkway, when he was approached by a man

- the man asked to use the boy's cellular phone

- the boy refused and continued walking

- the man followed the boy to the southeast corner of 500 Murray Ross Parkway where he brandished a silver firearm and pointed it at the boy

- the man then grabbed the boy's cellular phone and fled

He was last seen running towards 40 Fountainhead Road

The man is described as black, 5'8" to 5'10", with a medium build, brown eyes, and a short black Afro hairstyle. He was wearing a multi-coloured, fitted baseball cap with an orange design, a blue denim jean jacket, "True Religion" faded blue jeans with orange thread on rear pockets, and orange shoes.
