Sexual Assault Alert, Oscar Piedrasanta, 49, facing three charges, Police believe there may be more victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- the man began assaulting the victim when the child was seven

- the sexual assaults occurred between 2013 and 2015

- the assaults stopped when the child stopped attending swimming lessons at the man's workplace where he worked as a swim teacher

On Thursday, June 11, 2015, officers from the Child & Youth Advocacy Centre arrested Oscar Piedrasanta, 49, of Toronto.

He was charged with:

1) Sexual Assault
2) Sexual Interference
3) Sexual Exploitation

He is scheduled to appear at Old City Hall on Thursday, July 23, 2015, room 111.

Police believe that there may be more victims as the accused had access to other children in the community. Oscar Piedrasanta has worked as a swimming instructor in Toronto for a number of years. The following is a list of some of the programs he has been affiliated with:

From 2009 to 2013, the Zodiac Swim Club at two locations:

1. 160 Steeprock Drive
2. 318 Lawrence Avenue East

From 2013 to present, the Felix Swim Club at three locations:

1. 64 Baldwin Street
2. 181 Broadview Avenue
3. 315 Osler Street

The Child & Youth Advocacy Centre was opened in October 2013 and is comprised of specialized child abuse investigators from the Toronto Police Service, in collaboration with members of the Catholic Children's Aid Society, the Children's Aid Society of Toronto, the Hospital for Sick Children's Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Program (SCAN), Safe-T Program, Halton Trauma Center, and Boost Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention.
