Public Safety Alert, Distraction Theft

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a distraction theft that was committed on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in the area of Kipling Avenue and The Queensway.

It is reported that:

- an 86-year-old man was seated on the porch of his home when he observed a dark, mid-sized, four-door vehicle stop in front of his home

- a woman exited the car and approached the man

- the woman commented on the man's gold necklace and then proceeded to give him another gold necklace

- the woman left shortly after, at which time the man realized that his gold necklace had been removed

The woman is described as white, having a heavy build. She was wearing a dark-coloured dress.
