On Monday, June 8, 2015, Simon William Gares, 34, of no fixed address, will be released from prison after serving a two-year sentence for:
1) two counts of Threatening Death
2) Theft
3) Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
4) Fail to Comply Probation
During the investigation, he made non-specific threats related to the safety of children attending elementary schools.
He is subject to a Probation Order requiring him to abide by numerous conditions including, but not limited to:
1. Keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
2. Do not attend within 500 metres of Bayview Avenue and Moore Avenue
3. Do not possess any weapon(s) as defined by the Criminal Code
4. Do not buy, possess, or consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances
5. Do not possess or consume any unlawful drugs or substances
The Toronto Police Service is notifying the public because of his potential to violently reoffend. He will be residing in Toronto upon his release.
