During the early morning hours of Thursday, June 4, 2015, members of the Toronto Police Service with the assistance of other law enforcement partners, executed 50 search warrants in the Greater Toronto Area, including the areas of Peel, Hamilton, Halton, Barrie and Brantford, as part of Project Pharaoh.
In total, more than 60 people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in criminal organizations, including the street gang known as “Monstarz”.
Led by the Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force and the OPP’s Provincial Weapons Unit, the ongoing investigation was helped by the Toronto Police Service’s Major Crime Task Force, Drug Squad, Intelligence, the Firearms Enforcement Unit, and Computer Cyber-Crime (C3).
This morning’s warrants were executed with the assistance of the RCMP, OPP, Guelph Police Service, Peel Region Police Service, York Region Police, Durham Region Police Service, Barrie Police Service and Niagara Region Police Service.
A list of those arrested and the charges they face will be made available on Friday, June 5, 2015.
