Public Safety Alert, Increase in street robberies, Women being targeted

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an increase in street robberies.

The robberies have occurred in the area bound by: Eglinton Avenue East, Lawrence Avenue East, Brimley Road and Markham Road.

The suspects appear to be targeting women, ranging in age from 16-73, wearing necklaces that are visible. Several victims have sustained minor injuries.

To date, there have been multiple suspects described. The suspects are described as either male, black, 19-22, 5’10" to 6’, wearing hoodies and blue jeans or male, white, 15, medium build, possibly long hair worn in a ponytail, wearing a dark hoody.
