On Thursday, March 19, 2015, a collision occurred at Centrepoint Mall, 6464 Yonge Street. The exact time is unknown, but it is believed it happened late in the afternoon.
It is reported that:
− a couple (82 and 75) was walking northbound on the west side of Yonge Street, south of Steeles Avenue, near Centerpoint Mall
− the couple was crossing the east driveway exit from the mall
− an eastbound vehicle, attempting to exit the parking lot, struck the couple
− both the man and woman were knocked to the ground
− a number of witnesses came to the aid of the couple
− both the couple and the driver left the scene without exchanging any information
The 82-year-old man received life-threatening injuries. The 75-year-old woman received non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver is described as a woman, 20-40, medium-length blonde or brown hair, driving a yellow, gold or beige vehicle. Police are asking the driver to contact investigators as soon as possible.
Police would also like to speak with anyone who assisted the injured couple after they were struck.
