The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests in a retail business robbery investigation.
It is alleged that:
- between Saturday, February 28, 2015, and Friday, March 13, 2015, a man attended four retail businesses in the Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue area
- at each robbery the man concealed his face and was armed with a knife
- the man approached the store clerks and threatened to harm them
- the man made demands for cash
- the store clerks complied with the demands and the man would flee with a quantity of cash
It is further alleged that:
- at the robbery on Friday, March 13, 2015, the man was accompanied by another man
- during this robbery a struggle ensued and one of the victims was injured
- both men fled and police were able to locate the men
The two men were arrested and Hold Up continued the investigation.
Quoc Lam, 36, Toronto, has been charged with:
1) seven counts of Armed Robbery
2) four counts of Wear Disguise
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
4) Carry Concealed weapon
5) four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
5) eight counts of Breach of Prohibition Order
He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, March 16, 2015.
Hai Luu, 39, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) two counts of Armed Robbery
