Media Advisory, Safer Internet Day #SID2015, Headquarters, Media Gallery, Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., in the media gallery at headquarters, Constable Michele Bond, of the Sex Crimes – Child Exploitation Section, will address the media in regards to Safer Internet Day 2015 #SID2015.

This public awareness initiative will focus on addressing online safety, smartphone safety, bullying as a result of self/peer exploitation (sexting), and how to keep children safe from online sexual exploitation. It will also highlight the comprehensive Internet safety resources and tools available for parents through the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, as well as provide the media with samples of educational material.

The Toronto Police Service – Child Exploitation Section supports the following new guides provided by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection: “Smartphone Safety” and “Keeping Teens Safe from Online Sexual Exploitation”.
