On Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 2:45 p.m., police responded to a personal-injury collision at Avenue Road and Fairlawn Avenue.
It is reported that:
- a 68-year-old woman exited 1701 Avenue Road and attempted to cross Avenue Road, from the east side to the west side, mid-block, south of Fairlawn Avenue
- a 39-year-old man was driving a 2011 GMC 3500 cube van northbound on Avenue Road in the left-turn lane
- the woman was struck by the truck
The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries
On Thursday, April 25, 2013, the 68-year-old woman died in hospital.
