Arrest in Barrie in child exploitation investigation, Peter Eric Kirkeby, 26, of Barrie, Police believe there may be more victims, Photograph released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in Barrie by the TPS in a child exploitation investigation.

The Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section, assisted by the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit, executed a search warrant.

It is alleged that:

- police received information that a man was attempting to make contact with people online who would allow him to sexually abuse their children

- the man attempted to enlist a person, working as an escort, to sexually abuse children with him for a sum of money

- the man used the emails below to make contact with people online:

cottagelover12345@gmail.com

diamondedgecontracting@gmail.com

On Monday, January 5, 2015, Peter Eric Kirkeby, 26, of Barrie, was arrested and charged with:

1) Making, Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography
2) Using Telecommunication to Commit the Offence of Sexual Assault
3) Using Telecommunication to Commit the Offence of Making Child Pornography
4) Soliciting a Person to Have Illicit Sexual Intercourse

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, 10 a.m., courtroom 306.

The TPS Child Exploitation Section is asking the public to contact them with any information they have with regards to Peter Eric Kirkeby that might assist the investigation.

Police believe there may be more victims.
