On Sunday, January 1, 2012, at 2:48 a.m., police responded to a call for a stabbing near 171 East Liberty Street.
It is reported that:
- police located a man suffering from trauma to his body
- he was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died
The victim has been identified as Mike Pimentel, 24, of Toronto
Today, Homicide Detective Tam Bui has released the final three images in his widely covered social media efforts to identify the person responsible for the homicide. The man is classified as a Person of Interest.
He is described as Caucasian, mid-twenties, 5'6"-5'10", slim build, and has a short haircut (almost shaved) believed to be light in color. He was wearing a ¾-length black jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, light jeans and white running shoes.
Homicide investigators are requesting the man, or anyone who knows his identity, to come forward and speak with police.
