The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in a Human Trafficking investigation. We are also seeking the public's assistance locating two men and one woman still outstanding from this incident.
On Sunday, November 2, 2014, Sex Crimes - Human Trafficking Enforcement Team started an investigation into a Human Trafficking occurrence.
It is alleged that:
- a woman, 19, was recruited from the Vancouver area
- she was forced into the sex trade industry
- she was taken to a hotel in Sarnia
- she was forced to work as a sex trade worker
- she was forced to hand over a quantity of money to the accused.
On Sunday, November 30, 2014, at 7:55 p.m., as a result of a vehicle stop, Henry Borrego-Salinas, 21, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Trafficking in Person by Recruiting
2) Trafficking in Person for Financial /Material Benefit
3) Attempt to Procure to be a Prostitute
4) Exercise Control
5) Live on the Avails of Prostitution
6) Fail to Comply with Probation
He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Monday, December 1, 2014.
Police believe there may be more victims.
