On Monday, April 22, 2013, at 11 a.m., in the lobby of headquarters, the eighth Annual National Victims of Crime Awareness Week will be launched.
This week of awareness is commemorated across Canada from April 21-27, 2013. The theme is: We All Have a Role, raising awareness to the important role victims of crime have in the criminal justice system and to call attention to the services available to victims and their families. During the launch, the Toronto Police Service will announce its Victim Witness Support Strategy.
Chair of the TPSB Alok Mukerherjee, Chief William Blair, Deputy Chief Peter Sloly, Executive Director of Victim Services Bonnie Levine, and Josette Drummond, Victim Services Board Member, will be in attendance.
Leading the Path Award will be presented to a local service provider.
