On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 3:18 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at O'Connor Drive and Victoria Park Avenue.
It is reported that:
- a man, 71, was riding his bicycle southbound on Victoria Park Avenue, attempting to cross O'Connor Drive from the from the north side to the south side on the west side of the intersection
- a man, 49, was driving a 2013 Ford F-150 pick-up truck southbound on Victoria Park Avenue and was attempting to make a right turn to go westbound on O'Connor Drive
- as the cyclist attempted to cross the intersection, he was struck by the pick-up truck
The cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where he later died.
