Variety Village - Walk, Roll & Run, Sunday, October 26, 2014, 9 a.m., Road closures

On Sunday, October 26, 2014, the Variety Village Children's Charity will host their 8th annual Walk, Roll and Run charity event. It is anticipated that approximately 650 people will attend and take part in this event. Wheelchair participants, runners, and walkers will participate in either the 1 km or 5 km routes starting at approximately 9 a.m., from the parking lot of Variety Village.

Starting from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., Danforth Avenue from the Kingston Road split to Birchmount Road and Highview Avenue from McIntosh Street to Kingston Road, will be closed.

Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation. TTC buses on the Danforth Avenue route will be diverted to Kingston Road for both east and westbound routes. The event will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Formation area for the 5 km route, is at Variety Village starting at 9 a.m.

The run will follow the route of:

- westbound Danforth Avenue: westbound lanes
- northbound Birchmount Road: northbound curb lane
- eastbound and northbound Pinegrove Avenue: east/northbound lanes
- eastbound Highview Avenue: eastbound lanes
- northeast McIntosh Street: northeast lanes
- northbound Phillip Avenue: northbound lanes
- eastbound Aylesworth Avenue: eastbound lanes
- southbound Natal Avenue: southbound lanes
- southwest McIntosh Street: southwest lanes
- eastbound Highview Avenue: all lanes
- westbound Kingston Road: westbound curb lane
- westbound Danforth Ave: all lanes

The run will disperse again at Variety Village and should end at approximately 10:45 a.m.
