On Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police responded to a call for an Unknown Trouble at 1260 Dufferin Street.

It is alleged that:
- on Wednesday October 15, 2014, a woman was walking through a park in the Dupont Street and Dufferin Street area
- the woman was approached by a man
- they both engaged in conversation for several minutes
- the man assaulted the woman, causing her to collapse to the ground
- CPR and First Aid were performed but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced at the scene.
She has been identified as Xian Xu Liu, 65, of Toronto.
On Thursday, October 16, 2014, with assistance from members of the community, investigators allegedly identified the man.
Shou Quan Chen, 70, of Toronto, has been arrested. He is charged with:
1) Second-Degree Murder
He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Friday October 17, 2014, at 9 a.m.
