The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests arising from a Prohibited Driving investigation.
On Friday, October 10, 2014, at approximately 10:05 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the Mabelle Avenue and Cordova Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- the officer observed erratic driving, while following a vehicle, and pulled the car over
- the driver was investigated
- he was found to be driving while under a province-wide driving prohibition
- he was arrested and charged for this offence.
- an investigation of the car and the occupants recovered a loaded Glock 9 mm pistol
- the rest of the occupants were arrested and searched
- a number of rounds of ammunition for the gun were found in their possession
Joshua Auld, 23, of Toronto, is now charged with:
1) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
2) Tampering with a Serial Number of a Firearm
3) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered
4) Careless Storage of a Firearm or Ammunition
5) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
6) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
7) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
8) Possession of a Weapon
Marcus Cumsille, 21, of Toronto, is now charged with:
1) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
2) Tampering with a Serial Number of a Firearm
3) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered
4) Careless Storage of a Firearm or Ammunition
5) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
6) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
7) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
8) Possession of a Weapon
9) Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
A boy, 17, of Toronto, is now charged with:
1) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
2) Tampering with a Serial Number of a Firearm
3) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered
4) Careless Storage of a Firearm or Ammunition
5) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
6) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
7) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
8) Possession of a Weapon
The Young Person cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
