Human Trafficking investigation leads to rescue of one woman and one girl, Firearms recovered and drugs seized

On Thursday, October 9, 2014, members of the Sex Crimes - Human Trafficking Enforcement Team conducted an investigation in the Keele Street and Denbigh Crescent area.

It is alleged that:

- one woman, 18, and one girl, 16, were forced into the sex trade by two men

- the men posted advertisements online of the victims which depicted them in various states of undress

- the victims were forced to turn over the money they made from providing sexual services

- the men and victims became involved in a dispute over the situation

- one of the men pulled two loaded firearms out of his waistband and pointed them at the victims inside an apartment

- the men threatened to kill the victims and showed them the ammunition in the firearms

- the victims were terrified and immediately called 911

- officers from 31 Division responded and located the victims

Criminal Code search warrants were prepared for two apartments and for a vehicle associated to the men. The warrants were executed and the following recovered:

- Highpoint 9mm Luger loaded semi-automatic firearm
- Ruger 45 calibre loaded semi-automatic firearm
- Ammunition
- Large quantity of crack cocaine and powder cocaine
- Large quantity of marihuana
- Large quantity of currency (proceeds of crime)
- Counterfeit USA Currency
- Cellular phones, electronics and documents

Omar Dewdney, 28, of Toronto, is now wanted for:

1) Trafficking in Persons
2) Trafficking in Persons Under the Age of 18
3) Receive Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons
4) Exercise Control
5) Living off the Avails
6) Sexual Exploitation
7) two counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
8) Point Firearm
9) Threaten Death
10) Breach of Prohibition Order
11) Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
12) Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking
13) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
14) Possession of Counterfeit Money


Soloman Houlder, 20, of Toronto, is now wanted for:

1) Trafficking in Persons
2) Trafficking in Persons under the age of 18
3) Receive Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons
4) Exercise Control
5) Living off the Avails
6) Sexual Exploitation
7) Make Child Pornography
8) Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X2
9) Breach of Prohibition Order
10) Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
11) Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking
12) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
13) Possession of Counterfeit Money

If these two men are located, do not approach them. They are to be considered armed and dangerous. Call 9-1-1.
