Between September 9, 2014, and October 8, 2014, a series of six bank robberies occurred, all alleged to be committed by the same man. Five of the robberies occurred in the west end of Toronto and one in Hamilton. The last robbery occurred in the Eglinton Avenue West and Caledonia Road area.
It is alleged that:
- a man approached the banks on foot or by riding a bicycle
- he told the tellers it was a robbery and demanded money
- he was given a quantity of money and fled
He has been identified as Derek Ralph Thomas, 52, of Toronto. He is now wanted for:
1) six counts of Robbery
He is described as black, 6'3", 175 lbs., with tattoos on both arms.
Police are releasing his photograph and requesting the public's assistance locating him. If he is located, do not approach him. He is considered violent.
