On Saturday, September 27, 2014, police responded to a call for a fight on the sidewalk in front of 1220 Danforth Avenue.
Officers arrived to find a man suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
That man has now been identified as Naham Berhane, 34, of Toronto.
It is alleged that:
- Naham was walking along the sidewalk with friends
- he became involved in an altercation with another man
- he was seriously injured during this altercation
- the man fled when confronted by the Naham's friends
On Sunday, September 28, 2014, police attended a Queen Street address where they arrested Osama Abdulaziz Filli, 23, of Toronto. He is now charged with:
1) Second Degree Murder
He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park court, at 10 a.m., for a bail hearing.
