The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of six arrests in an Armed Robbery investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on the morning of Sunday, September, 14, 2014, police responded to a call for a robbery in the Jones Avenue and Dagmar Avenue area
- two men were approached by a group of men
- the group of men demanded the two men give them all their money
- the two men refused and were then assaulted and robbed of their money and personal belongings
- the group of men fled the scene
Two men and four Young Persons have been arrested.
Carlton Mckenzie-Lovency, 18, of Toronto and Deshante Hussett, 18, of Toronto, have each been charged with:
1) Robbery with a Firearm
2) Use disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
They were scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Monday, September 15, 2014.
Four boys, aged 15, 16, 17 and 17, were each charged with the following offences:
1) Robbery with a Firearm
2) Use disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
They were scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street on Monday, September 15, 2014.
They cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice act.
Police believe there may be more victims.
Police would like to remind people of the importance of calling police promptly, as that can increase the likelihood of a quick arrest.
