Police seek assistance identifying suspects in Theft and Mischief to historical monument investigation, Gerrard Street East and Main Street area, Security camera images released

On Saturday, August 23, 2014, a group of people were involved in the theft of a sword from the cenotaph sculpture in the Gerrard Street East and Main Street area.

It is reported that:

- at approximately 4 a.m., a man climbed onto the sculpture and removed the sword

- the man took photographs with the sword and then left the area

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying the people captured in the security camera images. It is also believed that the incident was captured on cell phone videos and images.

The suspects are described as follows:

- suspect 1 is a man, brown, 18-20, black hair styled up and shorter at the sides

- suspect 2 is a man, white, 18-20, with a shaved head

- suspect 3 is a man, white, 18-20, with dark, short hair

- suspect 4 is a woman, white, 18-20, with long, brown hair

- suspect 5 is man, white, 18-20, with dark-brown hair

- suspect 6 is a woman, white, 18-20, with light-blonde or light-red hair
