Traffic fatality #25/2014, St. Clair Avenue West and Symes Road area, Police request assistance with Fail-to-Remain collision investigation

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a fatal Fail-to-Remain collision investigation.

On Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 4:59 a.m., police responded to a call for a Fail-to-Remain pedestrian-struck collision, at St. Clair Avenue West, west of Symes Road.

It is reported that:

- a 31-year-old man was in the westbound lanes on St. Clair Avenue West, west of Symes Road, when he was struck by a grey/silver mini-van

- the driver fled, continuing westbound on St. Clair Avenue West, failing to remain at the scene of the collision

-the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead

Investigating detectives have located the vehicle in the west Toronto area, and an arrest is anticipated.
