Two arrested in Carjacking Robbery, Islington Avenue and Finch Avenue West

On Monday, August 18 , 2014, at 7:24 p.m., Toronto Police received a call for an robbery carjacking in the Islington Avenue and Finch Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

- a licence plate was broadcasted to police, and a vehicle was seen by police fleeing the area

- police strategically followed the stolen vehicle, to the Black Creek Drive, just south of Lawrence Avenue area

- the stolen vehicle stopped due to traffic and the police began to approach the stolen vehicle

- the officers safely arrested both the driver and passenger of the stolen vehicle and retrieved a fully loaded hand gun, which had one round in the chamber

It is further alleged that:

- the victim was approached by two men on his driveway

- the two men cornered the victim up against his car, and demanded his car keys

- one man pointed to his firearm and the other man violently grabbed the victims hand and took the car keys away from him

- the victim was then pistol-whipped with the firearm

- the two men fled with the vehicle

- the victim received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital

A 16 year-old boy, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
2) Use of a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence
3) Possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
4) Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
5) Unauthorized Possession of a firearm
6) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
7) Careless storage of a firearm
8) Unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle
9) Possession of Property obtained by crime Over
10) Armed Robbery

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, 2 p.m.

Leon McIntyre, 18, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
2) Use of a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence
3) Possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
4) Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
5) Unauthorized Possession of a firearm
6) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
7) Careless storage of a firearm
8) Unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle
9) Possession of Property obtained by crime Over
10) Armed Robbery
11) Assault with weapon
13) Assault Cause Bodily Harm
14) Pointing a Firearm
15) Dangerous operation

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2 p.m.
