The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware that a quantity of chemical substances were found by members of the public after they had been discarded.
It is reported that:
- on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 9:22 a.m., several small packages of an unknown substance were discovered on Whitburn Crescent, near the entrance to Langholm Park
- the substances appeared to be packaged disguised as narcotics
- the packages contained white and/or pink powders.
Analysis has revealed that the packages contained a mixture of Baking Soda, Sodium Bicarbonate, Ammonium Nitrate and Cat Litter Deodorizer. If these substances were ingested, they could be fatal.
The Toronto Police Service would like to warn anyone that found substances may be harmful or fatal if ingested.
