The Toronto Police Service requests the publics assistance in locating a man wanted in an Aggravated Assault/Arson investigation. On Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at 5 a.m., a man, 40, was sleeping at a shelter in the Shelbourne Street and Queen Street East area.
It is reported that:
- the resident in the bed beside him made threats to kill him
- the suspect set both his own mattress and the victim's mattress on fire
- the suspect stabbed him in the head
- he then fled the scene in an unknown direction
The victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Gavin Leslie, 25, of Toronto, is wanted for:
1) Assault
2) two counts of Assault with Weapon
3) Aggravated Assault
4) Assault with a Weapon
5) Utter Threats
6) Arson Cause Damage to Property
7) Arson with Disregard to Human Life
8) Robbery with Violence
If he is located do not approach him. He is considered armed and dangerous. Contact police by calling 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.
