The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a multi-jurisdictional historical Sexual Assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
- the incidents occurred between 1977 and 1983, mainly in the area of Parham, Ontario, at Sagamore Farm group home
- additional incidents occurred during the same time period in the Queen Street East and Victoria Park Avenue area.
It is further alleged that:
- a boy, 12, was staying at Sagamore Farm group home
- he was sexually assaulted by a man working there
On Thursday, July 31, 2014, William Robert Metcalfe, 71, of Toronto, who goes by the first name "Bob," was arrested in relation to this investigation. He was charged with the following offences:
1) three counts of Gross Indecency
2) three counts of Indecent Assault
He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Tuesday, September 9, 2014.
During the time of the alleged assaults, Mr. Metcalfe was working as a counsellor at Sagamore Farm.
Police believe there may be other victims.
