The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing Attempt Murder investigation.
On Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 1:45 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the Keele Street/Paxtonia Boulevard area.
It is alleged that:
- a 22-year-old man drove a 31-year-old man to the rear of an apartment under the false pretense of committing a crime
- once in the apartment's parking lot, the 22-year-old man was approached by two other men, one armed with a gun
- a struggle ensued, and the 31-year-old was pepper-sprayed by the 22-year-old man, and shot by the gunman
On Friday, July 25, 2014, investigators conducted search warrants at three homes in Toronto.
Dominique Wilks, 22, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:
1) Conspiracy to Commit Murder
2) Attempt Murder
3) Assault with a Weapon
4) Administer noxious thing
5) two counts of Fail to Comply - Recognizance
6) Fail to Comply - Undertaking
The third man, Abel Abdo, 22, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:
1) Conspiracy to Commit Murder
2) Attempt Murder
They both appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, in courtroom 306, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at 10 a.m.
The initial 22-year-old man has been identified as Johnathan McLennan, of Toronto. He is wanted for Attempt Murder.
He is described as black, 5'6", 145 lbs., with short black hair, brown eyes, and walks with a distinctive limp.
